Jakob Dellacher Photographs 2012-16.
Peter Breitfuss Photographs 1940-44

The illustrated book "Polar" shows a juxtaposition of two series of pictures taken in the years 1940 - 1944 and 2012 - 2016. The photographers are grandfather and grandson who have never met. Both crossed numerous European countries in their younger years, the grandfather as a soldier, the grandson as a travelling skateboarder. The author, Jakob Dellacher, discovered the pictures of his grandfather Peter Breitfuss by chance. After examining the prints for some time, he recognised parallels to his own photographs, although the situations could hardly have been more different.
Jakob Dellacher fills a personal void with this work.

Jakob Dellacher, *1988 in Haag am Hausruck, Austria. Lives and works in Vienna.
