Bound is a collaboration between the Scottish artist Christina McBride and the Mexican author Roberto Bravo. The result of their joint journey through Patagonia is both a travelogue and a reflection on travel. While Bravo's account follows famous literary predecessors such as Bruce Chatwin or Pablo Neruda, McBride explores the interplay of travel and photography as a method of destabilising conventional perceptions and expectations: Our view of the extreme Patagonian landscapes gets caught up in a dynamic of visual aporias that make what we see seem contradictory and ultimately turn the journey into a search for the possibilities of photography itself.

Christina McBride, *1963, in Glasgow, Scotland. Lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland.
